Job Description: General Laborer
Functional Summary:
This position is a direct report to the job Foreman. The Laborer is responsible for a broad range of support functions for the job site that include, hand work, panel setting, carpentry, installing reinforcing, raking, shoveling, soil grading, and soil compaction.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Laborer include, but are not limited to:
- Takes direction from Project Foreman
- Is able to communicate clearly with Foreman and co-workers
- Works in a safe manner and follows safety protocols outlined by the project foreman
- At the start of each shift, assist with preparing materials for each day’s work
- Works in a productive and orderly manner
- Keeps equipment maintained, and site clean and organized
- Understands basic plans & specifications – a plus
- Capable of providing lay-out with some assistance – a plus
- Load and unload forms, rebar, and other construction materials
Safety:
- Adherers to the company’s Safety manual, and company’s safety culture
- Participate in weekly safety meeting
- Work in a safe responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure one’s self or endanger the well-being of others
Qualifications:
Education, Training and certifications
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- Valid Driver’s License - Preferred
Work Experience
- Construction trade experience preferred

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and work sites will have uneven and inconsistent work surfaces
- Must be able to regularly lift 50 LBS and on occasion lift 100 LBS
- Kneeling and bending is regularly required
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required
- Travel may be required
- Overtime as required
- Working at height
- Work attire – Tee shirts to have a minimum of a 4” sleeve with our company logo, pants, and appropriate work boots
- Drug and Alcohol use will not be permitted during working hours
