Functional Summary:
This position is a direct report to the job Foreman, and the dispatcher. The Truck Driver position provides support functions to the excavation and concrete crews and must have experience driving, loading, and unloading low boy trailers. Key responsibilities are to deliver equipment and materials to the excavation sites. Must have the ability to operate equipment for loading and unloading.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Truck Driver include, but are not limited to:
- Takes direction from Project Foreman and/or Dispatcher
- Is able to communicate clearly with Foreman and Dispatcher
- Works in a safe manner and follows safety protocols outlined by the Project Foreman and Dispatcher
- At the start of each shift, is responsible for performing the pre-trip survey of unit to be driven
- Works in a productive and orderly manner
- Keeps equipment maintained, and greased
- Mechanical skills to fix minor issues with different equipment as needed
- Has a general understanding of rules and regulations as outlined by the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles for individuals with a Commercial Driver’s License
Safety:
- Adherers to the company’s Safety manual, and company’s safety culture
- Participate in weekly safety meeting
- Work in a safe responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure one’s self or endanger the well-being of others
Qualifications:
Education, Training and certifications
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License – CDL - A
Work Experience
- Prior Commercial vehicle operation

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and work sites will have uneven and inconsistent work surfaces
- Must be able to regularly lift 25 LBS and occasionally 50 LBS
- Kneeling and bending is required
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required
- Travel may be required
- Overtime as required
- Work attire – Tee shirts to have a minimum of a 4” sleeve with our company logo, pants, and appropriate work boots
- Drug and Alcohol use will not be permitted during working hours
